CSR & THE ENVIRONMENT

The environment around us now is a business issue. We at Manor Creative recognise that businesses are under increasing pressure regarding environmental stewardship – from regulators, stakeholders, customers, insurers, the local community and employees.

We are actively developing a sustainable business as part of our BS8555 environmental management system program. In addition to our CSR policy and environmental policy (which you can download from this website) we have taken positive action in developing our pledge entitled "Manor Earth".

Our pledge has been developed in conjunction with the following organisations:

Trees For Life

As part of our sustainable business pledge "Manor Earth", we have chosen to support Trees for Life as a positive step in lowering our environmental impact. Trees for Life is the award winning conservation charity dedicated to the regeneration and restoration of the Caledonian Forest in the Highlands of Scotland.

Scotland is a prime candidate for ecological restoration work, it is one of the countries that have suffered most from environmental degradation in the past. The Highlands in particular have been described as a 'wet desert' due to centuries of exploitation which have reduced them to their present impoverished and barren condition. In developing our grove, we will plant a new tree for every £10,000 worth of print each client places with us.  We will review this policy twice a year and issue a certificate confirming the contribution your company has made towards this initiative.

Carbon Clear

- Helping Manor Creative stay Carbon Neutral

We have partnered Carbon Clear to measure our Carbon Footprint and produce a strategy for developing more efficient energy use whilst offsetting any unavoidable residue. We have also developed a model with them for offsetting the CO2 generated within our supply chain for our clients goods.  As a result, we are proud to confirm that we are a Carbon Neutral company.

Carbon Trust

We are working with the Carbon Trust to increase our understanding of energy usage within our business and investigate ways to save energy and invest in energy saving technologies.

May Day Companies

We are proud to be one of the founding May Day Companies who attended the Prince of Wales’s Climate Change Summit in May 2007. As part of this attendance we have developed our ''Manor Earth'' pledge.  For more information on becoming a May Day company please see our links page.
